Video: progressive download versus streaming.
On this site we've made use of 3 video technologies; streaming media from Microsoft, embedded video via Flash, and progressive download from Quicktime. Each has its own advantages, but often the choice of which technology to use is dependant on the structure of the project.
We can discuss the relative benefits of each approach with you - but suffice it to say we're very experienced with all of these tools.
